Mindset Matters

Leveraging Thinking for Better Outcomes

This foundation session introduces participants to fixed and growth mindsets and how these influence performance, motivation, and resilience. We explore how our beliefs about ability shape behaviours, reactions to challenges, and openness to learning; while offering practical strategies for cultivating a growth‑oriented approach. Breakout group discussions allow participants to reflect on their own mindset habits, challenge limiting beliefs, and articulate new ways of thinking – to help embed mindset shifts in daily practice, and achieve better outcomes.

Bringing Values to Life

From words, to ways of working

This session helps participants move from viewing organisational values as abstract statements to instead exploring how to translate them into everyday behaviours and decisions. We outline how values guide actions, and how individual habits can either reinforce or undermine the intended operational culture of an organisation. Participants are asked to reflect on their own alignment with team and company values, and identify specific behaviours that demonstrate those values in practice – providing greater clarity and ownership, while delivering practical skills to model a culture that teams want to be a part of.

Optimising Our Time

Unlocking our ability to thrive at pace

This session challenges participants’ approach to ‘busy’ and provides techniques to achieve sustainable, value-driven pace. Participants are asked to define ‘good enough’ and consider the impact of progress versus perfection. We introduce different approaches to smart working and participants move into breakout rooms to discuss deploying a productivity mindset. The session also includes theory and discussion about finding our pace, and builds awareness of the difference between directing and reacting, and the impact these actions may have on individual and team productivity.

Effective Communication

How to be clear, confident, connected and consistent

This session focuses on supporting participants to communicate with greater clarity, certainty, and impact in evermore remote and hybrid environments. We explore how to structure messages for better understanding, adapt communication styles to different audiences, and listen actively to build stronger connections. If required, the session also covers strategies for handling difficult conversations. Breakout rooms provide an opportunity for participants to practice communication techniques in smaller groups, allowing them to build confidence and develop styles.

The Art of Negotiation

Tools for creating mutual value and achieving successful agreements

This session introduces participants to the difference between negotiation and persuasion, asks ‘why don’t we negotiate?’ and ‘why should we?’. We explore the impact of power positions when negotiating and identify some common traps when attempting to reach mutually beneficial agreements. Participants learn the eight negotiation fundamentals, for use when negotiating agreements, terms, or fees. The session uses breakout groups to develop personal approaches and cement confidence for use outside of the session.

Handling Adversity

Effective preparation and response strategies for challenging situations

This session introduces participants to practical tools for remaining composed, grounded and effective during challenging moments, exploring how human stress responses work and how to build greater emotional resilience. We explore strategies for handling uncertain and difficult situations, managing unhelpful thinking patterns, and developing a more constructive inner dialogue. The session provides participants with space to apply techniques to real scenarios, to feel more equipped to navigate future setbacks with clarity and confidence.

The Leader as a Coach

Guiding growth, not giving answers

This session supports participants to explore how coaching mindsets and behaviours can elevate performance, engagement, and problem‑solving within teams. We outline the core principles of coaching‑style leadership, and cover practical techniques for providing constructive feedback, supporting growth, and building trust. Participants practice short coaching conversations, reflect on their own preferred coaching style, and identify opportunities to integrate coaching approaches into everyday interactions.

Persuasion and Influence Skills

Shaping decisions with confidence

This session provides participants with the ability to motivate, influence and persuade others using positive intent and shared purpose. Focus is given to understanding the needs and perspectives of others, alongside building trust and managing expectations from the start. We ask participants to explore layers of influence and guide them to strengthen their communication style to optimise their ability to influence. Participants learn how to deal with resistance, manage ‘difficult’ people, and how to say ‘no’ positively. They leave with renewed confidence, and a clear set of approaches to help win commitment and retain trust.

Resilience and Adaptability

Mastering and leading change

This session provides practical and engaging skills to help build resilience, adaptability, and effective leadership during periods of change or uncertainty. We explore why individuals and teams resist or embrace change, how context shapes reactions, and the behavioural patterns that influence how individuals navigate change. Through the ICC Change Pathway, participants gain eight clear, practical steps for leading change in their organisation, supported by techniques in persuasion, communication and expectation management to help confidently support others through transition.

Collaborative Mindsets

From silos to synergy

This session explores how leaders can create the conditions for high‑trust, high‑performance collaboration across teams and functions. We explore the key mindsets that enable effective collective working, such as openness, psychological safety, shared ownership, and a willingness to harness diverse perspectives, and we lead breakout group sessions on how to foster an environment that enables these conditions to flourish. Participants leave the session confident in their ability to create a culture where collaboration becomes the default approach to solving challenges and driving results.
